Hello friends. Today I have a special post for you. A large part of my job, a nurse in the community, is to bring awareness to different health issues. Today, February 5, 2016, is the AHA's National Go Red For Women Day and I would like to take this opportunity to advocate for heart disease prevention. Please visit goredforwomen.org for more information on what you can do to help reduce your risk, or the risk of a loved one! All of the following information is from their website. The Go Red Campaign by the American Heart Association was started in 2003 to bring attention to the fact that heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year- more than all cancer deaths combined. Heart disease remains the number one killer of American men and women. The good news is that it is 80% preventable. Here you can find a quick read on some very interesting statistics. Not all women will have the same symptoms for heart disease, and warning signs in women are not the same as the warning signs you see in men. It is important that we know what the risk factors, and signs and symptoms for heart disease are, so that we may know what to stay away from, what we can and cannot change, and what symptoms to look out for. There are all kinds of healthy tips on the website, including what you can do to prevent heart disease, heart healthy recipes, and heart healthy exercise tips. Don't forget there are also a number of ways you can also get involved for the cause, become an advocate, or donate! Thank you so much for reading!

Hello everyone! Today I have the INM Nails Valentine's Day 2015 collection consisting of three creams, a crelly, and a glitter topper. I hope you are all having a fantastic V-day!
Hello everyone! Today I have a super easy take on a mani for Valentine's Day! I just wanted to share this mani here, on my blog, to briefly talk about the design.
Firstly, I have been working on getting a good set-up for recording in my nail work area. As some of you may know, my videos are not the best quality. Ha! Well, I finally ordered a clip/desk stand cell phone holder thingy that clamps on to my desk, then bends every which way while it holds your phone steadily. I've also been working with lighting I already have to get better colors. Well, anyways, to what I was getting at... I wanted to test my "new arrangement" and I did not have much time, so, I created this super easy mani. It literally took 20 minutes from start to finish, including dry time. The red polish is my favorite red creme, and it is INM Nails Red Rover. The rest was done with a striper brush, a dotting tool, and white acrylic paint. So, what happened to the video? It was done, but the angle of the camera captured my hand a lot, blocking the majority of the work... which basically means it was pretty useless. So I FINALLY found a great spot to record... but that will have to wait until my next mani ;) Have a good one! <3 Mely |
