#12DOCC | Christmas Tree
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic holiday season thus far!
Today I have for you my interpretation for this year's Christmas Tree theme for my 12 Days of Christmas nail art challenge. There are a lot of really nice Christmas tree manis out there, and a lot of tutorials, and a lot of really inventive ideas, so I wanted to try something different for you all today. This particular design is something I thought up and just couldn't get out of my mind. I wanted to try it and just see how it came out. Keep reading for my inspiration :).
Firstly, I'd like to point out that the "Christmas talk" is inevitable each year. Months before Christmas you will hear people say, "Ugh! It's almost Christmas." As the holiday season approaches, conversations always include the topic of Christmas gift shopping. it amazes me how many people start their planning and shopping since early Fall. The weeks leading up to Christmas, you will observe plenty of people in a frantic mode, talking about the different stressors involved, including food, gifts, gift exchanges, travel, and of course, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day plans.
Before you know it, (and before it's Christmas) people are already wishing it were over.
I completely understand. Christmas time is stressful.
But it's not so much "Christmas" that is stressful, but more of the tasks leading up to the events that take place around Christmas.
I love Christmas. I love Christmas shopping. I love Christmas decorations, and I love gathering with people to have a jolly 'ol time (yes, I just said that... you can quote me :P)
So... back to the mani. I really wanted this to be happy and festive. I also wanted to keep it simple.
I knew I wanted to keep the tree outlines on the edges, and use red and green, primarily. So I took that idea and just went with it.
Now that it is finished, I think a much darker green would have been nicer, but I still love how festive it is. I also think, I would've like it more if I had done all of my nails in the red polish.
It also felt like I could still afford a little more flare, so, just for kicks, I added ILNP Electric Carnival over the red polish, and ILNP Success over the green polish.
Hope y'all enjoyed! Thank you so much for reading!
