Hey all! Amy here (aka McPolish) with a little nail art for Mely. I chose to do some snow inspired nails using a ton of different nail art techniques! First off, I started out with a two color gradient using grayed out shades of blue. The darker color is "Bam-Blue-Zled" by Ulta and the light shade is "Boho Bonnet" by Orly. I used a makeup sponge to make the colors fade into each other. Next, I stamped a small snowflake like design onto all the nails using MoYou London Artist 04 plate and "White Opaque" from Mentality Polish. I first started out trying to free hand all those little snowflakes but they ended up looking more like stars. So this stamp was the next best thing. Next, I wanted to create snow. Or at least something that looked like real snow. I saw MadamLuck on Instagram use a textured white polish to create an amazing effect of falling snow on your nails. I knew I wanted to try it as soon as I saw it! I took Sally Hansen "Sugar Fix" and dropped a drop into water and let it spread out. The white base spread out the little textured peices nicely. I dipped my nail into the water and got that "falling snow" look. I then used a an eye shadow applicator to lightly sponge on the "Sugar Fix"to the tips of my nails. I did not add a top coat to this mani because I waned to see all that texture. Now let's take a closer look at that falling snow texture with a little macro shot. Macro all the things! I am super pleased with how this came out! I want to try this with different color of texture polish and see what I can come up with. Thanks again to Mely for including me in her round of guest bloggers.

I appreciate the detailed post on Snow by McPolish. For those looking to expand their online presence, services like the ones found on websites that offer free unlimited instagram followers can be useful, but it's great to see a focus on nail art here.
